Hi, Ok, this is what's happening. I'm using rgba, disabled aa, enabled hinting . This for bitstream vera sans in local.conf. The fonts keep looking sloppy, instead of the narrow look like on the default font on gtk1 applications. This is what my /etc/fonts/local.conf now look likes:
