When I plug in or unplug headphones, pulseaudio mutes the sound
(mute button lights up) and turns the volume down to 0. To get sound
back, I have to unmute and turn the volume back up.

This appears to be an intermittent bug. Sometimes the microphone remains muted
after
suspending to memory and waking up, and other times the microphone will
be unmuted after waking.

It seems that I was mistaken and this bug is not resolved in 15.0+dfsg1-4.
The microphone seems to keep its muted status after a reboot but not
afer waking from being suspended to memory.
