I don't know where sftp-server is getting its umask from; but it's
certainly not the conf file.
I've seen MANY people talk about a wrapper work-around - this DOES NOT
WORK - at least not in a rssh/chroot environment. (log = at

I think a really nice feature would be to handle whole groups in the
conf file.
ie: I have a group of users that are rssh/chroot restricted to sftp
only; they are in the "chroot" group.
I would like to address all those users as a group.

my umask=007 in my rssh.conf.
my chroot jail is setup to offer ONLY SFTP;
when a user uploads a new file, instead of having mode=660, as one would
expect from this umask setting, it is set mode=640.
I have not fully explored the extent of this
