Package: installer Version: Sarge rc3
After I'd prepared the CD-1 boot disk, installation as double-boot option on my WinTel machine went unbelievably smoothly. Congratulations!
But as a newby I thought I should report a couple things that were pretty opaque:
1) Nowhere was it made clear what the "businesscard" version was. This term didn't seem to be used anywhere but on the Sarge download page, with no explanation of whether I wanted the netinst or businesscard version. I eventually made some guesses only by downloading both and looking at their sizes.
2) Ultimately I used CD-1 rather than netinst or businesscard. I naively wrote the .iso file to a CD. Eventually I accidentally discovered that if I double-clicked the .iso file on my Windows XP system my CD writer would unpack the files onto a CD, and I was then able to do the installation. The documentation should say something about how to move the image to the CD properly.

P.S. As a thank-you note, I'll mention vpython.org: VPython lets you write Python programs that generate 3D animations as a side-effect of computations!
