Dear Maintainer,
Smplayer hangs whenever I try to start a video. When I close the window
smplayer is in, I sometimes get an error message and a log. Here is a log:

If I start KMPlayer and click the Open button, the default starting
directory is Home Documents which refers to ~/Documents. Software
on Linux systems should use ~. But if one has to use a

linux-image-2.6.14-2-386 kernel. I just installed (using Synaptic) the
linux-image-2.6.15--k7 kernel and related packages including

When I installed my current version of Debian, I used aptitude from the
console because aptitude produces very useful log files. I suggest that
synaptic, aptitude, apt, dpkg, etc. all use the same databases and log
files.
