On upgrading jetty8 the index.html file in /var/lib/jetty/webapps/root

in openjdk-7-jdk to fix this
issue please? No need to restore the alternative symlink in /usr/bin (it
conflicts with the apt package), we just need the binary in JAVA_HOME/bin.

Restoring the apt binary in the openjdk-7-jdk package should fix this
issue. It was removed in openjdk-7/7u65-2.5.1-5 but it's still available
upstream.
This issue will come back with the Java 8 transition.

Should we file a bug against openjdk-7 and then mark the 2 affected
FTBFS as blocked?
Yes I think so, reverting the change in openjdk-7 is the best solution
to be ready in time for Jessie.

the same error after switching to Java 6.
OpenJDK 6 has been removed from Jessie, so the issue only happens if you
install the Oracle JDK. Do you need a fix for Squeeze or are you able to
upgrade to Java 7?

This bug is now 10 years old. If someone could attach a runnable sample
demonstrating the issue I could look into it, otherwise I'll tag the bug
as unreproducible and close it.
