I am the person who created the Appdate file for Widelands.
The reason for the warning:
tag-missing : not specified
is that after extensive RTFM at the time I had no idea how to specify
this, so I decided to ship my own and add the translations directly to
the xml nodes as

Thanks. My preference is to have upstream release with the updated
translations. I will pursue that first, but if that cannot happen in a
timely fashion, will review the translations and see if they apply to
the version currently in Debian.
So would I, but we haven't had any luck so far. Maybe
