which is impausible, especially since it happens every few seconds:

Of course, that is just an accident until the
other XtVa... calls are fixed, but I will not do that at 3 in the
morning.

i presume that you are not using hotplug/discover.
I most definitely use discover, as I found out the hard way
(/etc/rcS/S36discover caused a kernel panic by loading two

It wasn't a initrd problem at all, /etc/rcS/S36discover was the culprit.
If I disable qlogicisp for discover, 2.6.8-2 boots. See further bug
reports.

against SDL), so it is probably a bug in the X-server. Somebody please
