Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The unstable-version (1.1.5-1) indeed fixes the issue.
Actually it was quite stupid (or lazy) of me, not having checked for new
versions in unstable.
Sorry for that :)
Anyway, new version seems to work fine.

I can confirm that this issue has been resolved in version
1.2.4-2.
Installing this version in testing made the problems with libc6 go
away.
Thank you for the support on this.
Any ideas on when this is going to hit squeeze?

Got some new info of the upstream maintainer.
A couple of new versions are waiting in the CVS tree.
Since 1.15 a new message type 'chat' has been introduced. This
'chat'-type is default since 1.16.
Current 1.18 has a couple of other fixes aswell.
Would be nice to see this in unstable or testin
I've also informed the upstream maintainer (by mail), as found on

Message type is set incorrectly. By default type will be set to 'message',
which should be 'normal'.
Scheme: http://xmpp.org/protocols/jabber:client/
libpurple and iChat will drop these messages.
Included patch will fix this.
