This doesn't work in bookworm but works in bullseye:
$ mkdir /tmp/newdir
$ cp -p --parent /etc/passwd /tmp/newdir
cp: ‘etc’: No such file or directory
/tmp/newdir/etc gets created but with wrong permission and also the error

The same behaviour exists in 5.10.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.19-1.
I can reproduce the error by switching off the monitor. When I power it on,
the error always comes. The only time the error appears is when the monitor

switch --no-sandbox to google-chrome and the problem went away!
With the switch I don't get "Not cloning cgroup for unused subsystem
ns" when starting chrome and no ugly "crash
I have the same problem as Berni but on 32-bit, Intel CPU.

I also have problem with kerneloops using 100% CPU (one core in a
Q9550).
The problem seems related to the size of /var/log/messages.
In my case the problem started when /var/log/messages reached around 5
MB, not that much.
If I move away the file and create a zero size file, everything is
