I applied the patch i.e.
1cb8f074df8d16879ec80d778d26fb5b9af05a3b
from
git://git.debian.org/git/pkg-xorg/driver/xserver-xorg-input-evdev
and it seems that the problem disappeared. at least it did not show up
in the last two days.

Xorg randomly hangs about once per day.
