After upgrading to squeeze, I observe the same bug with sudo
1.7.4p4-2.squeeze.2. Disabling tty_tickets does not fix it.
The system is a chrooted Debian environment. Output from uname -a:

Haha, I think I have the culprit : xserver-xorg-video-intel.
It added a file /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf containing a line "options
i915 modeset=1". Changing to modeset=0 or simply removing the file seems
to fix the problem.
Probably this bug can be closed or reassigned, but I'm not sure ho

Has anything been done regarding this bug ?
mysql-server is installed on my laptop as a dependency for KDE4, but I
do not need a system-wide server running and increasing my boot time.
Therefore I disabled the /etc/init.d/mysql script (which IMHO an
end-user should not have to do).

"aptitude purge splashy" was enough to complete the installation of
desktop-base, thanks.
However this left stuff in /etc/splashy/themes/default, which might
cause problems if I later want to reinstall splashy (which I never
managed to make work, BTW). "rm -rf /etc/splashy" should allow for a
