If disabling that setting doesn't work I'm afraid that
Hi all,
I just uploaded Zoidberg release 0.96 to cpan. It is also available from
http://zoidberg.student.utwente.nl/. This release add 3 patches:
* utf8 decoding for file names. Submitted by Wagner Frederic.
* patch to check PAR_TEMP environment var. Submitted by Johannes Grosse.
* patch to

Could you be more specific on how to reproduce this problem ? Assuming

In my Zim directory, I replaced a file with a symlink to a file that I
store somewhere else. I can access the file with its full name
(:Work:CompanyA:TODO for example) and links pointing to it works
perfectly.
However in the "side pane", this node never shows up in the hierarchy.

Please fix zim not to invade the home folder with its data files.
A good solution would be placing them under the ~/.zim folder.
Zim uses "~/.config/zim" and "~/.local/share/zim" to store configuration
files. This scheme follows the freedesktop.org basedir specification.

Hmmm, feel kind of silly that I didn't encounter this before. Problem is
that due to the ":" the whole string is automatically linked as a page.
The bug occurs because this is not a valid page name. I'll fix both the
autolink behavior and the check for valid page names.
Thanks for reporting th
I can not reproduce this bug. Could you give more details on which steps
you take to produce this ?

A bug was fixed in 0.17 that prevented correct loading of the side pane
when invalid utf8 content was encountered in the file contents. Not sure
if this is the problem here. To start clean please delete ".zim.cache"
manually from the repository directory and check if the modification

There was a bug if you had repositories with non-default home pages - I
guess this is the problem you describe, although more details would have
been helpful.
The problem I'm aware of is fixed in 0.17. The defaul home is still
"Home", but you can set a non-default home page for a repository us
This suggests that zim was not able to correctly determine the name of
the current page when saving - which is quite strange since it
apparently was able to do so when loading the page. To debug this I
would need a subset of pages that reproduce the problem. Other

Fixed in new release (0.16).

In version 0.21 there is an "Edit source" item in the "Tools" menu. This
calls an external editor to edit the source. Hope this solves your use case.
