Package: slapd
Version: 2.3.23-1
Severity: important
slapd silently dies after startup when running on the 2.4 kernel. This
appears to be because of missing epoll(4) support prior to 2.6. There should
at least be a warning somewhere in package description or Debconf that <2.6
is not supported.

The previos version of this package included /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver. This
version does not. There was no warning of any kind that deliver would be
removed. Anyone using deliver as a local deliver agent will lose all

There should be some (debconfy) way to send the email alerts at arbitrary
intervals, not just at midnight. Hourly might be handy. Sites using
snort-mysql or snort-pgsql probably have some other, more robust way of
getting alerts. Those si

This script also fixes a problem I noticed where starting imapproxy from an

Package: imapproxy
Version: 1.2.4-3
Severity: wishlist
At some sites it may be necessary to run more than once instance of
imapproxy, so the use of killall rather than of /var/run/imapproxy.pid is a
real pain. Any interest in changing this?

This package can easily run chrooted if a directory is created for it and a
configuration setting is changed.
It would be nice if the package also created a user other than
nobody:nogroup for it to run as.

This is a great candidate for debconf. The configuration format is dead
simple and the typical usage of this package is too dependant on local
environment to make choosing sensible defaults possible.

The default configuration file has "proc_groupname nobody," but that group
is called "nogroup" on Debian. This prevents imapproxy from starting if
configured to run without privelages.
