The package depends on libgdal-dev >= 2.17.2 which I think is a typo. The
highest version of libgdal that is available in both Debian and at the gdal
site is 2.3.1.

I've tried to import a .shp file. I've tried with several files, but all that
happens is that a popup window appears that says [filename.shp] could not be
opened. Is this because gdal has not been compiled in?
