FWIW: this bug is partially fixed in lire 2:2.0.2-1, which is in testing
now.
It now only tries to decode google search keywords which are UTF-8
encoded, and passes all others as is. So it will no longer crash.
However, decoding other search keywords so that they too show up nice in

CVE-2006-1173 / VU#146718 applies to sendmail 8.13.7. Upstream
released a fix in 8.13.7, as well as patches for 8.13.6 and 8.12.11.

file regards files which feature BEGIN { as awk script text, even if
such files contain a perl dash-bang line. Such a BEGIN contruct is
commonly seen in Perl scripts, and therefore is not a very specific
awk-test.

Surely. Adding
0 string/b #!\ /usr/bin/perl perl script text executable
to /etc/magic fixed a failing linda check on perl scripts containing
BEGIN { for me.
