Hello,
This patch looks really simple, so chances for unwanted side-effects are
minimal. Any chance that this patch will find its way into the code base? That
would be a great improvement for people who have to maintain hosts in multiple
DNS domains.
Thanks,

Package: ppp-udeb
Version: 2.4.4rel
Severity: minor
The name of the ppp provider file seems to depend on how the ppp package
was installed.
When pppoe is installed manually by pppoeconf ethX, the provider
file is named /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider
When pppoe is installed by d-i with preseeded
Package: ppp-udeb
Version: ppp_2.4.4rel-9
ppp-udeb fails when the hostname is preseeded.
The problem is that debconf's db_input returns error code 30 when the
asked value is preseeded. ppp-udeb.postinst bails out on this.
