Bug#635710: Video playback with vdpau creates black flickering

Got the same flickering. Please try the 280.11 driver from experimental. Upstream changelog recently mentioned several fixes concerning vdpau. Updated to 208.13-1 - the problem still exists. % apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-nvidia xserver-xorg-video-nvidia: Installed: 280.13-1
