The Debian "audacity" package needs some more attention than I have been
able to give it recently. I am looking for a co-maintainer or team to help
maintain this package, and possibly to adopt it from me.
Audacity is a cross-platform audio editor and recording program:

start a new process, rather than open a new window in the existing

Did anything happen to fix this bug??
I can't do much in the current version of Audacity to fix this,
unfortunately. This problem affects all programs that are still using
GTK 1.2 (audacity, gnucash, etc.). You can fix the problem on your
local system by removing 100dp

Would it be possible to rebuild it against libwxgtk2.6?
The Program would look better integrated into gnome then.
Thanks for the request!
Unfortunately, Audacity 1.2.3 is not compatible with wx2.6. Later this
week will release the first Audacity 1.

audacity isn't really a general purpose MP3 player so it would be

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll change this in the next upload.

Thanks for the request! I'll work on this for the next upload. It will
require some patching to Audacity's build system.

If mpg123 is not installed, gnomebaker hangs while trying to burn an MP3
file to an audio CD.
I think that oggdec and sox might be also required for some file types,
but I haven't tested this.

This bug should probably have its severity reduced, since it is no
