Package: Grub

Version: 0.97-22

KDM has an option to provide a list of the operating system options
available in the grub "menu.lst" file. To have this list available from KDM,
the BootManager=Grub option must be set in the "kdmrc" file located in the
/etc/kde3/kdm directory. This is a great feature for multi boot systems. You
can select an OS to boot into from the KDM Restart menu. Then upon rebooting
grub will automatically boot the selected OS without requiring user
intervention to select it in the boot menu. This feature works in openSUSE
and I beleive that I saw in a post in their bug reports that the bug was in
the grub package that causes it to not work properly which openSUSE has
patched. In the Debian etch system, this feature doesn't work properly and
even after selecting the desired OS, the standard grub menu comes up as if
nothing was selected from the KDM menu.

Thanks,
