libnss-unknown modifies getpwuid to never return NULL; but this is how
adduser determines whether a user id is unused. This makes
libnss-unknown problematic to install, because installation of other
packages will fail if they require users of their own.

In trying to recreate my original problem report, to provide you with
more detailed information about the exact problem (it was somewhere in
the 'configure' bit and had to do with the 'checking for exported

I am unable to compile the module succesfully through make-kpkg, when
the target system (2.4.27) is not the same as the building system (2.6.8).
Applying the patch provided in this bug report fixes this issue.
