after experimentating a little bit with my problem, I found the solution for
the reported bug:
1.) Uninstall all firefox-related packages (firefox, mozilla-firefox,
firefox-locale-xx and so on) with dpkg --purge package-name
I then got an error message that the directory /usr/lib/

sorry for my late answer, but I have some more (perhaps interesting) facts
about my firefox problems:
1) Installed extensions:
a) DOM Inspector 1.0 (greyed out because not compatible)
b) Deutsch (DE) Language Pack 1.5.0.1 (greyed out because not
compatib
