A slight modification of the proposed workaround in the bugreport
mentioned above worked in my case:
apt download libffi8 libffi8:i386
for d in libffi8*.deb; do
dpkg-deb -x $d $d.dir;

When I invoke the Saxon XSLT Processor an error occurs.

I think the java processor gets confused because there are two MANIFEST.M
