After upgrading to XOrg from XFree86, I lost the ability to switch
virtual console with ctrl+alt+Fx if I started the X with xinit. Same
thing with the kdm login screen, but after I log in and the KDE is up
and running, everything is OK again.

I have Version: 0.7.4.14 now, but what I didn't mention earlier is that
I have (had) lpr. Looking at the code, it looks like it only support
cups. When I installed cups, foomatic-gui started to work also. Still,
it should be noted somewhere that lpr is not supported.
