The biggest issue here in my mind is that the correct error is not being
surfaced. The second biggest is that it is impossible to configure some
options necessary for connection to certain networks via network manager
UI. From what I can gather, the flow of events is this:

There is DateTime::TimeZone::Tzfile module in CPAN which provides an
interface for compiled tzdata timezones. I'll just fill ITP or RFP for
this package if you need it.
The DateTime::TimeZone module should be

Hi,
Did the xmonad packaging effort get anywhere? I'd be quite keen to help
get this wm into Debian, and have a local mentor.

Please re-build this module with current tzdata and put in the

Note bug #416206 is related, but I think separate - that module
addresses the wishlist design issue.

We are seeing this on our systems too, which are using console=tty0
console=ttyS0 (making the SERIAL console master).
What is happening is that vt-is-UTF8 prints a console detection code to
/dev/tty0 directly, and tries to read the response from there too - but
ends up waiting forever because the
method could be accepted, as it has
some benefits over softupdate, particularly in terms of consistency of
vserver builds versus network installs.
