As much as I like Audacity, this behavior makes it practically useless for me.
I would also really like to know where this noise comes from.

Package: pingus
Version: 0.7.2-2
Severity: important
In some levels, such as Staircase Maintenance, Pingus constantly leaks memory
at a growing rate, even after all pingus have been released. The memory is not
freed when the user retries the level. If I play badly enough, I am able to
exhaust my
frame.)
And when I move ~/.firefox away (which I thought could help the situation),
iceweasel refuses to start, but doesn't exactly crash. So I don't have a
backtrace for that.

That is most probably #487979. Can you upgrade libpango1.0-0 to the
version in sid and retry?
That fixed it. Thank you very much!

I can't reproduce this is 4.2.2. Can you test that version and let me
know?
I can still reproduce it with that version. Simply create a directory
and a file in it, select both, hit the delete key, and confirm the
deletion.
