It seems i'm also in pain because of this bug, as you can see the uid / gid
of many users get mapped to 4294967294

I just came over this bug report as I did a search for the error message
i got from rsnapthost. The box here is running Sid and is up to date
(the last apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade -f is about 2h ago).
