I just downgraded to check that this does not happen with version
0.9.8.10-4.
Also, note that arping is an optional package. So, I guess it should be
listed in the dependencies...
FWIW I attached a patch that sets the hardcoded path of arping
correctly.

Today I had an issue which might be related to the above report. After
noticing that the fan went on maximum speed I found that packagekitd
took 100% of the ressources of one CPU core and it used about 1GB of
memory.
Shortly after that, it told me that I had packages to upgrade and it

I want to give some further information. I added a new user for testing
purposes (with a clean home directory) and could nevertheless reproduce
this bug (now using kdepim version 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3). Furthermore I
