Dear Maintainer,
'rev' reports the Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
error whenever if finds a byte above 127 in the C locale (LC_ALL=C).
I would expect it to treat one byte as one character in this situation,

When X unblanks the screen, or when I switch from text mode to X, the
screen brightness is reset to 100%, independently of the previous level.
When the 'video' module is not loaded, it doesn't happen, but then the

Since gVim handles keystrokes by itself, it should be able to distinguish
an Alt-letter combination from a character with the eighth bit set.
Currently if you say for example ':imap M-h foo', [g]Vim will substitute
'foo' for 'è'

In my opinion then this qualifies as a bug. Since xpdf is able to give
feedback of the current selection it should starting doing so as soon as
the user begin visually selecting stuff.
Indeed, the version of xpdf that came with Debian Sarge (3.0) worked properly.
