The same situation was reproduced during hibenate, not resume: cooler
is working at high speed, nothing hapens, but display wasn't off and I
got this:

On exactly same HP Probook (not mine) with Ubuntu resume also doesn't
work after suspending when closing the notebook. The difference is that
the fan is not working during resume like in my case.
BTW, resume worked after pm-suspend, but I tried it only once.

resume per ten suspend/hibernate fails: screen is black, fan is working
at high speed and there is no response for keyboard/mouse.
