This seems to be caused by last NMU :(
libengine-gost-openssl 3.0.1-1, which fixes that (and other) problem, and
also deprecates libengine-gost-openssl1.1, is in the NEW queue.
I will leave the bug open, though, until it installs in the archive, as a
reminder.
Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the NMU!
The package isn't abandoned, I just discovered I have some technical
problems with my DD key :(
Once that is resolved, I will upload latest engine version which is
intended to work in 3.0 environment.

I'll fix them myself once I'll get past my summer exams.

I personally haven't seen it with the images I built yesterday, so I
guess all the necessary libc parts are in place now.

I would say even more: this is the same bug as #517231.
I can confirm that unpacking libnss-* 2.9 udebs manually in the booted installer
removes the segfault.

Hello.
Current busybox includes a broken implementation of usage messages compressor,
which is not endian-neutral. This breaks all big-endian debian-installer images.

It looks like latest libdevmapper1.02.1-udeb is linked against libselinux1:
Depends: libc6-udeb (>= 2.9), libselinux1 (>= 2.0.59)
This renders it effectively unusable in d-i (since d-i lacks libselinux) and
