I could not see the 20 removals without using grep or a pager, as it went out
of the scroll buffer on the tty.
It would seem advantageous simply to move the REMOVED package list to the
bottom of the output.

i did my own testing on a VM and i figured the problem was upstream...

dules/-486/ blah not found(32bit debian-cd/installer
uses 486), i checked and sure enough /lib/modules/-686-pae/ is what
i have.
i then changed my preseed file to linux-image-486 and the installation went
through fine.
anyway, off i pop.
