The status of this bug report is kinda confusing.
I absolutely don't know whether someone is still investigating it. I
even don't know if it happens with recent releases of shadow.

maintenance team slightly vary.

The attached patch was written back in November for Debian bug #62821.
It simply adds a small warning to vipw reminding the user to also edit
the shadow file when using either vipw or vigr.
So far, I haven't got feedback on it.

Sounds like an Etch beta1 but please tell exactly which image you were
using.
I suggest you try images from

This translation is incomplete on purpose. As Amanpreet didn't have
time to complete it, I suggested him to send at least a file with the
two high priority templates translated.

The currently used SSL implementation YaSSL is licenced under the
GPL and linked into both the server and the client library. The latter
fact would make it impossible to link e.g. LGPL or PHP software against
libmysqlclient.so.

In the next Debian release, which will only ship MySQL 5.0, the binary
logging will be configurable via expire-logs-days in /etc/mysql/my.cnf
which will be set to a value of 20. The cronscript will then be superflous.

is really only removed when the server closed all connections,
see sql/mysqld.cc in function kill_server() and unireg_end().
So maybe this was different back then, now I would close this
