Debian 5.0 - Canon Pixma iP3500 printing failure I don't know whether the problem is in the stable distribution of Debian 5.0 or in the Canon distribution of a driver for the Pixma iP3500, but I was unable to print using the Pixma iP3500 after I installed Debian 5.0 on my Compaq Presario F763NR. After some debugging, I found that the printer failed to print because the printer driver looked for the file: /usr/local/bin/cifip3500 and couldn't find the file because it was actually located at /usr/bin/cifip3500. Adding a link from /usr/local/bin/cifip3500 to /usr/bin/cifip3500 solved the problem. I am using Debian 5.0 on a compaq Presario F763NR and I installed the Canon driver using the Canon files: cnijfilter-common-2.80-1.i386.rpm which I converted to a .deb file and using cnijfilter-ip3500series_2.80-1_i386.deb I installed Debian 5.0 using the Debian Netinstall iso. I'm not certain, but when I previously installed "Lenny" prior to the stable release of 5.0, I did not experience any problem installing and using the driver for the Canon PIXMA iP3500. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
