Sorry for not providing the dependencies. That happened because they belong
to python-matplotlib, not matplotlib itself.
I found that the problem was caused by a missing gdk-pixbuf loader for SVG
files.
It is provided by librsvg2-common which i suggest do add to the dependencies.

aptitude log. After the major upgrade you see at the beginning of the log I
put "set gfxpayload=keep" into /etc/grub.d/00_header, did grub-update and

David, please apply attached patch to
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/cryptroot and see, whether
that fixes the bug for you. you can try this by invoking
d libgcrypt11 need to move to /lib first,
they're installed to /usr/lib at the moment as well.
another advantage of these changes would be, that statically linking the
cryptsetup binary would no longer be required.
