In scientific view and hex number representation, calculating the
102030405 OR 1 gives the result 2030405 instead of the correct result
102030405. The same truncation to 32 bits happens for other bitwise
operations (XOR, AND). On the other hand, 102030405+1
I resolved this by enabling xv_autopaint_colorkey in the preferences.
Guessing: without this option, xine paints the output window with a
solid color (the color key) so that video can be overlayed on it.
There's some bug in that causing the stuttering video playback. More
guessing: xine is

Curiously the following happens only when gxine is fullscreened.
There's no flashing when it's windowed.
DVB subtitle text is fine for the duration the subtitles are supposed
to be on screen, but when they change to display next lines the screen
always flashes.
