Package: hashcat-nvidia
Version: 20210201

I work with Debian GNU/Linux testing (Bookworm) at the moment.

Debian GNU/Linux is providing this metapackage to make it easy for users of
NVIDIA cards to install hashcat with all it's dependencies and make use of
OpenCL

In Debian Bullseye the dependencies were either nvidia-opencl-icd (newest
nvidia-driver) or nvidia-legacy-390xx-opencl-icd (the legacy version for older
cards). The same was done for the recommended nvidia-smi or
nvidia-legacy-390xx-smi package.

Meanwhile NVIDIA dropped support for the pre-maxwell cards (kepler and so on)
from it's latest driver, so it is not included anymore with latest
nvidia-opencl-icd and is instead provided by the in Debian GNU/Linux testing
already existing package nvidia-tesla-470-opencl-icd, like it was done in the
past with the nvidia-legacy-390xx-opencl-icd package.

Same goes for the fitting nvidia-tesla-470-smi package. The 470 driver is still
supported by NVIDIA.

To complicate things further, it seems that neither the old
nvidia-legacy-390xx-opencl-icd package nor the nvidia-legacy-390xx-smi package
isn't existing in Debian GNU/Linux testing anymore.

From my understanding the fix would be to add nvidia-tesla-470-opencl-icd and
nvidia-tesla-470-smi in addition to the hashcat-nvidia package to make users of
these cards happy again or replace (the not existing at the moment) 390
dependencies with the 470 dependencies.

This way the whole range of supported NVIDIA cards will be included in the
hashcat-nvidia package and it's full usefullnes would be restored again.
I hope, this message is useful for you.

With best regards,
Martin
