It's very surprising that this bug hasn't been addressed for more than a
year. This ssh connection hangup never happens under FreeBSD, for
instance. systemd may just be too buggy, since it has another design
deficiency, namely being unable to save system time upon reboots (along
the lines of
/if-up.d/ntpdate (among other scripts),
it cannot resolve DNS names listed in /etc/openntpd/ntpd.conf:
Aug 15 19:46:37 rihad ntpdate[942]: Can't find host 0.debian.pool.ntp.org: Name
or service not known (-2)
Aug 15 19:46:37 rihad ntpdate[942]: Can't find host 1.debian.pool.ntp.org: Name
or service
Hello, this bug is still present in Debian 8.1. /etc/init.d/openntpd
runs before /etc/init.d/bind9 and is unable to resolve servers listed in
ntpd.conf, such as servers 0.debian.pool.ntp.org. Once the system has
completely booted, running /etc/init.d/openntpd restart resynchronizes
the clock
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.28.6
I do apt-get update from both stable and testing on one machine.
$ cat /etc/apt/apt.conf:
APT::Default-Release stable;
$
apt-get install foo - correctly attempts to install `foo' from stable
apt-cache --no-all-versions show foo - incorrectly selects `foo' from
