Let me rephrase this: Debian introduced the erratic behaviour just recently: xdg-utils (1.1.3-3) unstable; urgency=medium [...] [ Nicholas Guriev ] * Link to /usr/bin/open through alternatives mechanism. LP: #342584. What justifies this breakage? Just out of pure fun? Nik
