Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? I tried to play around with https://github.com/llvm/circt. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Compile PyCDE from Circt. * What was the outcome of this action? The following error: "CIRCT only supports Verilator version 4.110 and up. Found version: 4.038." * What outcome did you expect instead? Working PyCDE. The actual version of verilator at https://github.com/verilator is v4.220, the one in Debian is 4.038.1 from 2020. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.0 APT prefers impish-updates APT policy: (500, 'impish-updates'), (500, 'impish-security'), (500, 'impish'), (100, 'impish-backports') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.13.0-39-lowlatency (SMP w/24 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages verilator depends on: ii libc6 2.34-0ubuntu3.2 Versions of packages verilator recommends: ii libsystemc-dev 2.3.3-5 Versions of packages verilator suggests: pn gtkwave <none> -- no debconf information
