Package: ffmpeg Version: 7:5.1.3-1 (but apply to all version forward) On a fresh installed Debian 12 console installation, installing ffmpeg will have an install size of 544MB! Adding "--no-install-recommends" will not help you.
To get a sane installation I had to goto ffmpeg.org to download the Static Builds which will get you a running ffmpeg of only 76MB. Please at least make "--no-install-recommends" work so people who just need to do some video-encoding (which I assume is the majority of users) don't have to bloat the box.
