I tried a few things today to try to make sure $HOME was writable but
they didn't work.

One of the nautilus build tests is failing. I was unable to reproduce
this issue in my local sbuild or in a porterbox. The test also passes
on Ubuntu. I'm filing this bug because it is difficult for me to
figure out a fix
