this bug is not present in sid, only in sarge. It happens because the value of @_ is lost in the 'goto &$fn' on line 333 of /usr/share/perl5/Carp/Datum.pm. This looks like Perl CPAN bug #32039, 'Chained goto &sub drops data too early', which was introduced in Perl 5.8.4 and fixed in 5.8.6.
