Hi, I noticed the same problem, when the IP address of my NTP server was changed. The DNS record was updated to the new address, but my NTP server kept using the old IP until i noticed that my clock drifted and restarted it. So it is not only problem for DNS-RR but also when DNS records are changed to reflect IP changes of NTP servers. It would probably be a good idea to resolve the hostname again when the NTP server is unreachable.
