Mozilla and Debian have different priorities, so I don't expect this suggestion would receive a warm reception at Mozilla, and I don't have the patience to argue with them. In Debian, upgrades of the entire system are forgettably routine, whereas Mozilla thinks that a new browser version is a major life event. Besides, I've been using Firefox for a while, which doesn't have this problem. I don't know whether Mozilla still does.
