Yes, I am quite agree with this point. Many might have mistook since they had installed apt-watch applet. In my suggestion is that it would be much better to add an option to check updates automatically whenever starting gnome-session in its preferences. I am using apt-watch_0.3.2-8_all.deb Debian GNU/Linux 2.6.16-2-686.
