IMHO this bug should be closed - instead of #define file2rc_VERSION (0.1)
OP could use #define file2rc_VERSION wxT(0.1).

The first one sounds like a bug in your program, not a bug in wxWidgets
2.5.3. It looks like you made a non-Unicode build of wxWidgets
