Package: libasound2 Version: 1.0.7-4 [CCing the XMMS bug report]
Hello, In bug #287583, we've been discussing a recent problem which has cropped up with XMMS (all recent packages). With the ALSA output plug-in, when a playing song is paused, ~/.xsession-errors begins to fill with thousands of erorr messages: ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:490:(snd_pcm_hw_delay) SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_DELAY failed: File descriptor in bad state In the aforementioned bug report, it was noted that the problem disappeared when the user reverted to libasound2 1.0.6-5. Indeed, it seems that the error message in question was only added to libasound2 in 1.0.7. Rather than re-assign the bug to ALSA, I'm going to file a new one, since there might be a problem with XMMS as well, one merely uncovered by the new libasound2 package.
