Package: slapd Version: 2.1.30-3 Debian Sarge. When setting these parameters in /etc/default/slapd: SLAPD_USER=ldap SLAPD_GROUP=ldap the slapd daemon runs as user "ldap" and works fine, but you will have to kill slapd manually when running a: /etc/init.d/slapd stop Richard. -- __
