Package: krb5-admin-server Version: 1.4.3-5 Followup-For: Bug #293077 I use the v5passwdd service. I have a helpdesk and user application for Windows that relies on the port 464 service being there. For changing password in the Kerberos 5 Domain which feeds my Samba, LDAP, autofs, (ad-infinitum) stuff.
I have been using it on Tru64 v5.1 for a while, but am moving to another platform for lifetime longevity concerns on the ALPHA hardware. My problem here is that the file (/usr/sbin/v5passwdd) doesn't exist period. I have tried to search for the package that contains this file, but as package.debian.org is down due to performance problems (the search and cgi sections) and with apt-file (after apt-file update) returning nothing, it is a bit frustrating. Also, checking the changelog for the package, it appears since v1.4.2-1 (unreleased) that v5passwd and v5passwdd etc are no longer included in the package. Why, if the package no longer includes the file would, in the debconf template, would it still ask if you wanted to still USE IT! Also, this bug fixed (on Nov 30,2005), I can't believe the changes of the missing files... went unnoticed. If you could please inform me howto get the v5passwdd and v5passwd etc back and change the debconf template. I guess I am a bit DUH these areas. I thank you for your hard work on Debian.
